I Want Wednesday: Danish Treats

While perusing through my October issue of House Beautiful my eyes stumbled upon this delicious Hans Wegner swivel chair and I had to make my new found obsession known. I love the mix of leather, wood, and chrome. There is so much going on with this chair, but it comes off so simplistic and chic. And while yes, I am in the market for a new desk chair, sadly this $10,000+ is a tad out of reach. But hey, what's a girl without a dream?

D.I.Y. Decor

Talk about the ultimate do-it-yourself in home decor. Jonathan Adler has come up with another great idea - modular dresser drawers that you can arrange into your ideal dresser. Now, aesthetically its not exactly to my likely though its decidedly mid-century modern flair, I have a feeling, will suit many of you. And I know he's not the first to come up with the idea, but come on whether its to your taste or not you have to admit his execution is beautiful. And actually, the more I look at that stunning white modular seat with the red cushion the more I think I have to have it!

Back to School Decor

I don’t know about you but I loved school. And having finished college a few years ago I’m feeling a bit nostalgic for some school yard flair. Those plaid skirts I wore back elementary and junior high school were so sweet, but sadly my old jumper from 8th grade no longer fits (yes I did try, but in my defense it was for Halloween). I figure there has to be a grown up way to incorporate some classroom love back into my life. Here are a few favorite ideas I’ve picked up in my search…

{clockwise from top left: I have to have to have these memo pad dishes, inexpensive and stylish conceal wall book shelf, lovely screen printed Jane notebook that brings forward memories of Austen's finest work, SAT Math Concepts shower curtain for those looking to smarten up in the shower, canteen utility chair - a modern interpretation of a classroom staple, these Periodic Table of Sentiments note cards are the cutest idea! I'll have to snag a few for my stash, ultra cool porcelain salt and pepper shakers for a sleek table setting, and lastly, these library card bookplates are the perfect way to let any book borrower know exactly when and who to return that good book to}

More A+ finds:
- super cute hanging antique chalkboard for writing grocery lists, schedules, or a dinner menu
- try one of these mathematician keepsakes for a cute stocking stuffer
- looking to stash the clutter? these girly locker bins are fun youthful idea for storage
- practice your art skills by sketching these animal manikins; plus they'd look great on a bookshelf

I Want Wednesday: Office Decor & Accessories

I'm in the process of re-decorating my workspace and while there are certain things that a.) I might not be able to afford right now or b.) just don't match the aesthetic I'm going for I still find them lovely and want to share them with you. But be forewarned, picturing all these items existing within one space could cause seizures.

1. I want my desk to feel distinctly feminine and I think these lovely white porcelain pieces, aptly named Emma, from see Jane work will do just the trick.

2. I want my space to be organized and tidy like it is now, but this time with thoughtfully placed fresh light colors. {clockwise from top left: drawer detail of Porter Collector's Desk via Pottery Barn, oh so tidy closet via Point Click Home, bright and colorful accessories via see Jane work, soft blue themed drawers organized just so via Martha Stewart}

3. I want a little whimsy on my desk. {clockwise from top left: diamond push pins via Paper Source, dozi paperclip holder via MoMa Store, staple free stapler via Paper Source, mini desktop cleaner via MoMa Store}

4. I want a space full of airy metal baskets; a little bit industrial, a little bit vintage and a whole lot of fresh open organization. {left: basket letter tray via see Jane work; right: pic via Martha Stewart}

5. Even though I'm a library junkie book storage is always the first to fill up in my home. I want, no I need, a stylish way to display all of my books. {clockwise from top left: book club vintage bookends via Burke Decor, this leather covered Webster's dictionary makes me swoon via my new fav see Jane work, perfect espresso stained filing cabinets and hutch via Pottery Barn, sapien bookcase via design within reach}
